Review: Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation (OLD REVIEW)

In the search for the perfect foundation for my never satisfied skin I bought another drug store foundation from a favourite brand of mine, Bourjois. In case you aren't familiar with previous foundation posts I have combination/oily skin that is super sensitive to just about everything. That in itself makes picking foundation tricky, add in the fact I'm the fussiest person ever when it comes to coverage, smells and oxidation it's pretty much a failing battle.

I bought this in my big Boots haul (click here) so I've been able to give it a run for its money and have thoroughly tested pretty much every aspect you could ever think of.

What it says: Gives a flawless complextion for 16 hours, thanks to a new generation formula with 3 correcting pigments for zero imperfections.

What I thought: I read reviews before buying this and already knew that this oxidises to a darker colour than what it is first applied as. This worried me because I'm pale as milk, which means that any oxidation would end up looking like I'd put Nutella on my face...not attractive. It does oxidise but not as harshly as I thought, this gives a subtle hint of colour that I don't mind and barely requires any blending to ensure you don't look like you put your head in a sun bed.
This smells like Dr Pepper (cherry coke) which is weird when you apply it and took me a while to pin point what it smelt like. That being said the smell/fragrance isn't over powering and isn't noticeable unless you want to notice it.
The main thing that surprised me was after using Bourjois Healthy Mix was that this is a much much more matte finish. This really doesn't require any powder over the top unless your after longer staying power (this has a certain waterproof quality, great for sweating in summer!) However, this is NOT a foundation for dry skin as it exaggerates it quite a lot.

Re-purchase Verdict: Probably not. I really do like this foundation and it will be some girls holy grail but it isn't mine. I'll keep using it until it runs out or another foundation grabs my attention but I'm not overly keen on the oxidation especially not when the weather starts to turn cooler. While this hasn't caused any breakouts I prefer something with more bonuses (vitamins etc) that help my actual skins appearance as well.
