About a week ago I watched this YouTube video and there is a line that Caroline Hirons says, something like 'wipes are for the three F's...Flights, Festivals and Fannys' and that's kind of stuck in my head the last week, so much so that I've ditched using baby wipes to take off my make up and tried out these guys.
I'll just explain why I used to use baby wipes to take off my make up. 1. They are so cheap, you can buy hundreds of them for next to nothing! 2. They make taking off make up clean, easy and quick. 3. They didn't irritate my skin. So they seem like the perfect solution, right? Wrong. Baby wipes aren't great for using on your face, because lets face it they weren't designed to do that job. They also cause you to pull at your skin which causes wrinkles (eek!) and can spread any nasty-ness, such as bacteria, that is on your face into other areas (double eek).
Due to this new found information I walked into Boots a couple days ago and decided that a new make up remover was what I needed to help my skin survive the stress of exams and moving house. I honestly can't say I did a great deal of looking because I saw this range and decided it was made for me and every other brand just wasn't good enough.
They are a Boots own brand and retail for less than 4 GBP (each) so they are pretty cheap (bonus!) but the main thing I liked about these initially was that they had Tea Tree and Witch Hazel in them. For anyone with blemish/acne/problem skin you'll probably already know the benefits of these 2 wonderful ingredients. For those of you that don't, they are both anti-bacterials in a natural form, they fight spot-causing bacteria in even fewer words.
This will be a joint review but I'll highlight the key parts of the individual product if needed!
What it says: Deep cleanses and refreshes and helps keep skin clear and healthy.
What I thought: I really love these two products. I currently use them together and think they work perfectly, just as they are supposed to! The foaming face wash takes off make up beautifully and leaves your face with that clean feeling that tea tree always manages. Then applying the toner and cleanser with a cotton pad you can literally see any areas where you haven't applied the foam to your face, the dirt and gunk is visible (slightly eew, but awesome too!) I love that clean feeling that you get from a really good cleansing routine and this gives that feeling. A combination of the two (can't say which) definitely help to quicken up the healing process if you have a spot which is super important for a product to be able to do in my opinion. The only draw back is that this can make your face dry, as with any tea tree/witch hazel product so you'll need to make sure you have a moisturiser on hand to rectify that. Something like this moisturiser does the trick perfectly!
Re-purchase verdict: Yes. I'm not sure when that will be because I've been using these two every day for the last couple of days and haven't even made a dent in the amount of product left. I definitely recommend this to anyone with problem prone skin or anyone that wants to get rid of some oily prone skin. A combination of these two will definitely do the trick! Just make sure you have a moisturiser to use after these guys!
